Hey all,
I hope you’ve been well and enjoyed your spring breaks.
I’m proud to announce that Killing America is coming to San Francisco this Sunday, April 7. We will be screening at the beautiful Vogue Theater in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. We will have another all-star panel, including prominent San Francisco residents — many of them who have been at the forefront to restore meritocracy to the local schools.
This event is expected to be our third straight sell-out so you may want to get your tickets on the earlier side by clicking here or on the poster below.
When we first started scheduling screenings for this film we thought that the JCCs (Jewish Community Centers) would be great venues for the film since many have screening rooms that host 200+ seats. However, we’ve received nothing but delays and resistance from all of them. The JCC in San Francisco offered to allow us to screen but wanted $10,000. Needless to say, that amount left us speechless and disappointed. There is simply no way to justify that cost — even The Guild where we first screened the film with a full staff, a recording of the Q&A, and security did not cost remotely that much. You would think this community would be more supportive of a film that showcases antisemitism and hate in a factual manner, but it is my gut feeling that their progressive identity matters more. It’s a shanda.
In any case, we are thankful that many theaters, including independents and the big chains like AMC, Regal, and Cinemark have approved our film for screenings. I will post the dates for future screenings when I get the schedule. As of now, Chicago is on for April 21st and I’ll post the ticket link once received.
Thank you and hope to see you in San Francisco this Sunday.
All my best,
Eli
Perfect reaction. Yes it is a Shanda - as I've understood it a collective embarrassment, So sad.
Shanda? What does that mean?
