How this could occur under a prime minister who was previously knighted for his services as the Director of Public prosecutions is mind boggling. Oversight of the police is a national government function in the UK. It is the responsibility of the Hime Minister, reporting to the Prime Minister. Henry’s death is a direct result of UK policing guidelines and training mandating an “anti racist” approach. What does that mean? That a young man stabbed through the heart and bleeding out will be handcuffed and arrested by the police while his brown skin attacker stands over him. Justice has not been served. But the citizens of the UK will ensure it is. One way or another.

Whether the victim could have been saved is independent of whether the responding officers met their duty of care, followed protocol, or provided appropriate assistance when they first encountered him. Focusing on the medical outcome does not mitigate or address the separate issue of potential police malpractice or negligence in their initial response and handling of the scene.
