Eli: both your story and Bill Maher's rant prove the difference between the mindset of free individuals versus the mindset of clubs and committees. People who identify themselves as individuals living in freedom gain respect by achievement. They invent things, they find solutions., they make improvements. People who identify themselves as members of a club or committee gain respect by conformity. They would rather denounce any achievement because it erodes the value of conformity.
Very well said! We need to end the radical left’s takeover of our educational system before it is too late. As far as Bill Mahr’s take on Mr Beast, he is dead on. I am an ophthalomolgist and also provide free surgery to those who cannot afford it. What did I think when I first saw the Mr Beast clip that provided free cataract surgery? Awe and envy, if only there were more people like him!!
In 2020, when the university forced faculty to contribute to a “social justice” curriculum, I contributed “How Jack Became Black” and “What Killed Michael Brown?” Thanks for your work for truth in the face of a tyranny of “poetic truth.”
An outstanding column! I am so glad that your cochlear implant rescued you from hearing only 15%. What a blessing it brought to you and your devoted parents!
My wife is similar to you. She lost her hearing so much that her hearing aids stopped helping. Her cochlear implant has been a miracle for her. Without it, I honestly don’t know how she would function. If someone could cure her hearing loss, she would leap at it in a second. It sucks being challenged by activities that others do routinely. Some relish their disability culture, but most just want to be like everyone else.
Love hearing that and am very happy for her. I don't know if I would do a full cure -- I love the world of silence. But it would be tempting since a cure would restore even more hearing. In the meanwhile, we have to be thankful that we live in these times.
Well said, it is absolutely essential that we not simply convert Jews into the “oppressed” group and move on with the Woke insanity. In fairness, the majority of elite American Jews shouting the loudest right now do not deserve our support, as they overwhelmingly either enabled or participated in this bullshit when only white conservatives were at the sharp end of the knife.
as much as i don't want to, i have to be honest and agree with you, and am duly embarrassed, by the fact that lots of the woke elite are Jews. I'm also Jewish, and was sending around kendi videos (cringe) up until around late summer of 2020, when i was, thankfully, red pilled out of my brain washing, mainly thanks to coleman Hughes initially (which is how i came to know the steeles), and from there the whole thing just unraveled for me. and i have to say, I *am* seeing, in my remaining lefty jewish friends and family, now, in the wake of all this, a lot of, if not outright red pilling, definitely a serious questioning of the entire philosophy of woke, and not just the desire to be included on the oppression Olympics team (see batya ungar sargon on this). i agree that those who *are* trying for that goal should not garner sympathies, instead i think it *is* a great opportunity for a re-education of those Jews finding themselves 'betrayed' by their woke 'allies', to understand the rottenness of the entire system. i see it happening somewhat, as i said, in conversations I'm having with friends and family...
Glad to hear that something good may come of an otherwise horrific conflict - and I applaud you for having the personal courage and integrity to admit that you were buying into a corrupt ideology, change course and try to help others do the same. This is not easy to do and I hope you are not alone.
I hope the smartest and the brightest are looking elsewhere for excellent education. There are tons of good schools which do not subscribe to the lunacy Ivy has become. And you can get excellent education to boot because all of those who were pushed out bc they don’t feel they belong to “club”, are now teaching there!
As someone who attended NYC public schools in the 60s-70s where the teachers were predominately Jewish, in addition to some of the local community shop owners, I had nothing but positive experiences among them. Like most decent people, I was shocked and horrified by the Hamaas attack on Oct 7th. However, nothing prepared me for the rampant antisemitism on display by many students and others attending Ivy League universities that are suppose to be a haven for the best and the brightest. I am reminded of my late grandmother's wisdom who would occassionally exclaim, "there is no greater fool than an educated one." Foolishness, shame, and wokeism on steroids was front and center this week by the presidents of Harvard, MIT, and UPenn during the congressional hearing. Their testimony was abominable and would never have been so callously offered if African Americans were slaughtered instead. Eli Steele captured the very sentiment and frustration so many of us are feeling. Thank you, Eli.

Truly. My kids are his fans and we had a great conversation about this when it made the news.
you are so consistently awesome
Thank you, Nicky. :)

Love hearing that and thank you.
This may be my favorite Substack post of the year. Your tweet (or, X?) was a masterpiece. Thank you.
Thank you, man.

What a great post, Eli! I'm a new fan, but a big goddamn fan!
Keep up the good work and God Bless you!
Thank you and same to you. :)
Thank you again, Eli, for your observations. Your commentaries since October 7 are some of the best i’ve read.
What a shameful spectacle of prevarication from those academic talking heads. How do they live with themselves?
Thanks too for Bill Maher’s insightful rant.

We, Jews are our own worst enemy!
I hope it’s not a little too late!
