This was really beautiful and thoughtful. Thank you.

I’ve been a huge fan of Dr. Bhattacharya since he burst on the scene with the Great Barrington Declaration with Dr. Martin Kulldorff and Dr. Sunetra Gupta. Such quiet dignity in the midst of the storm that follow the declaration.

Also, Dr. Francis Collins was the head of the NIH, and he’s the one who directed Dr. Fauci, who was head of NIAID, to smear what he called “fringe” epidemiologists. Of course, Dr. Fauci was all too willing to comply.

Eli, you're a beacon of truth. It's fitting that you're featuring Dr. Bhattacharya. The fact that he now heads the NIH is a marvelous twist of fate, for which we must thank Donald Trump.

Dr. Bhattacharya recently spoke to Bari Weiss on her "Honestly" podcast, which I recommend. He reveals that Francis Collins apologized to him in private. Dr. B. says he was grateful for the apology, because Dr. Collins was his colleague and friend, whom he admired greatly. The betrayal by Dr. Collins and Fauci had a devastating effect on his life, as well as on the country, since the anti-lockdown policy endorsed in the Great Barrington Declaration was correct from the start. He hopes that some day Dr. Collins will make that apology public.

It is good that Dr. Collins apologized to Dr. Bhattacharya privately.

It is unfortunate that Dr. Collins lacks the courage and integrity to apologize to Dr. Bhattacharya publicly.

Thank you for the reminder. I see many calls for revenge on X. However, I would like for those who unjustly attacked conservatives to face consequences within the provisions of the law. If they broke the law or were unethical, there should be appropriate consequences. I am not confident that will happen. Yet, those who experienced attacks and unfair treatment should move on despite any injustice. Calling for everyone you don't like to be jailed will not solve anything. I admire you and your father. The tar baby is a great lesson.

You’re a great man. You’re the kind of friend I’d like to have (and have maybe two that even come close to you….the rest are into vapid conversations or rage and cancellation…including a 30 year “friend” who cancelled me recently)… so I really appreciate your authentic, sensible, compassionate commentary.

I don't want revenge. I want people who committed actual crimes to be prosecuted fairly, but focusing on retribution takes energy away from what matters most. More than anything I want science to be scientific, not political. I want 100% transparency and honesty from everyone, especially the government, so we can make better choices with our money and our votes.

Another beautifully thought out and reasoned post.

It takes real courage not to take revenge. As you say, it consumes the person seeking revenge.

well done Eli

Keep 'em coming.

Thank you, Eli. We need to be reminded that there are a higher goals than vengeance. Love your Dad’s Tar Baby analogy…I will repeat to my grandchildren.

I agree with Eli. It is a shame that revenge was omnipresent the moment Biden was sworn into office.

You are “the adult in the room”, Eli. Sadly, I’m not sure our juvenile culture can appreciate the worth of what you’re saying.

Yes, I chime in with a comment above, you are the adult in the room, Eli. How I wish our leaders could sit down in a room with you, and hear you, and the Tar baby story, loudly and clearly. Wouldn’t it be extraordinary, if President Trump could take a page from your book. I am so sad, that he adds such divisiveness to all the potential progress, with his bombastic, egotistical ways. However, right they may be, there is a better way to go about it. It’s a good start: Dr. Bhattacharya, Marco Rubio - measured, thoughtful, approaches. More of that please. Thank you, thank you thank you.
