I hope you enlisted a good lawyer with success in litigating in this field. I'm disappointed that Substack is taking the position that it has. Either it's a free speech platform or it isn't. If this is the first time Substack has had to seriously defend its free speech policy, it certainly won't be the last. Substack should be supporting you, not removing your film based on the spurious claims of people who want to censor you if, in fact, the law is on your side.

It does sound like you need strategic, accurate, legal advice in order to prevail. If you have it, and the law is on your side, I believe you'll win in the long run. Please keep us posted.

Agreed. I’m surprised and disappointed in Substack. I expected a far different response from Free Press. I would have expected Substack to write this defense. I loved the film. It is the kind of news reporting I cherish in this age of only propaganda news reporting.

Thank you for responding. Eli is trying to be charitable regarding Substack, but I'm shocked. The film is incredibly important and I can see why the subjects of the documentary were embarrassed and infuriated to see themselves in the light of truth.

I appreciate your courageous stand. This kind of nonsense needs to stop and, as Bari Weiss has asserted, the best antidote is courage.

All of this bureaucratic obstructionism is simply an effort to frustrate the truth of their reprehensible behavior and confuse the credulous. My advice is to avoid the legal issue and continue to promote the movie and you message in spaces where it can flourish. Make a movie of the process of being sued and the effects.
