Thanks again Eli for your chosen words of wisdom and perspective that crosses the old, tired use of the 'race card' to address any issue when the accused is white and the perpetrator is black. The prosecutor's office in NYC needs to review what exactly justice is.

Mike Pesca (I think) reported that in the past year in NYC there have only been three homicides in which the person killed was black and the person whose actions resulted in death was white. All three were charged. One was motivated by race (and was charged as a hate crime). Each death is tragic, but it does not seem that there is a race-based or even race-related issue related to Peely's death, except that some people are insisting that we view it through the lens of race.
