I found Diana Blum's essay to be compelling witness to what is happening today -- thank you for providing the link. The clear inference, which she didn't even need to articulate, is that those who are teaching our children (or directing those who are teaching our children) believe they know better and that their mission righteous. Or, alternatively, they are weak willed and do not have the moral fiber to resist what is on its face a bankrupt ideology.

Thanks for these excellent contributions, I am SO in agreement with the statements on merit.

Also, I highly recommend Wendell Berry's book, The Need To Be Whole: Patriotism and the History of Prejudice (Shoemaker& Co. 2022). Long book but worth it. Much success Eli and all!!
